Been debating on getting on either of these:

Seagate Momentus 80gb 7200rpm sata 2.5"

http://www.buy.com/prod/seagat...loc/101/201644930.html

or

Seagate Momentus 100gb 7200rpm sata 2.5"

http://www.buy.com/retail/prod...?sku=201658132&loc=101

The 80gb is $82 while the 100gb is $105. I currently have a 80gb 5400rpm drive in the notebook and there is about 80% storage left. Should I just get the cheaper drive now and later on down the road upgrade as necessary? The main point of the upgrade is the rpm speed and not size but was wondering if the 100gb would be a better value.

so it's $1 per Gig, it's really a toss up at $23 difference. would it kill you to get the 100?

nah, not really. im guessing this 80gb 5400 drive will go for about 40-50 on ebay so the new drive will cost either 40-60 depending on which one I get.
