etcx, you said you have 3 mobile bartons, what were their stock speeds rated at? 2400, 2500 or 2600. Im thinking of getting 2600 if i might be able to oc it to 2.5gigz, because i won't be getting a new pc in awhile.. :( got no money. 1 upgrade per 3-4yrs

Snowpeas, I think the general consensus, and I agree with it, is that you should get the 2600. It is much less likely that you will 2.5GHz with a 2500 if you do not plan to do something serious to aid your goal. If you just want to buy something put it together and crank it up then forget about it (after you have tested stability ;)), buy the 2600. In hind-sight I almost wish I had.... almost :)

Do you have good case airflow? Because at 2.3ghz and 1.70v, you should be running mid-40's or so under 100% load, with that awesome heatsink, even with a slow rpm fan. Okay, here's two for you, anyway: Zalman 92mm fan, but this one comes with only a 3 pin connector, so if that bothers you, or you just want more airflow with a "normal" amount of noise, this Panasonic: link looks pretty awesome.

edit: Oops, I just looked at the picture of that Panasonic, and it comes with bare wires, so you'll have to buy a connector for it, also. Wait, you could always just cut the wires from that Vantec Stealth, that would work great, if you don't mind doing it.

I have 2 2500+ and 1 2400+. The best oc chip is the 2400+.

Btw the fan does make a difference.

Dang, I knew there was one other decently quiet 92mm fan, but I couldn't remember who it was that had it! Yeah, Snowpeas, that's the one you want.
