I need some help on the old version of Windows 95 (I have the disk version, not the cd-rom version) and the part that I need help on is that I once installed with these disks and it had my parents name on it. But now, I want to put my name on it, but once I start installing, my parents name are automatically in the field and it can't be changed. Can anyone help me to find a way to change this on the diskette or to find some way to go around it? Thanks! 🙂

At the run command type regedit to bring up your registry. Do a search for your parents name. Each time it appears modify the entry by replacing their name with yours.

Thanks for the information. I was wondering if there was a way to edit it before I install Windows? On the actual diskette. Is there?

Sorry. I don't have a clue as to how you'd edit it pre-installation, on a floppy. Frankly, I'm surprised that it would even be on a floppy. When you install Windows an owner's name is added to the system registry on the hard drive.

Cool, thanks for the regedit idea, I remember doing that on Windows 98 somewhere before. 🙂 Thanks for the help! 🙂
