Need help on new build system?

Hi guy,

I just build a new pentium d 820, when I boot up the comp. one the post message say "the ram run pc2 4300...can't remember" something along that line. I have 1 gz 2*512mb of ram it OCZ Gold ddr2 667 (pc2 5400). Should it run at pc2 5400?

Dual core pentium 820 (LGA 775)
-Asus P5LD2 (945P chipset)
-OCZ Gold Series 2x512MB DDR2-667 RAM
-Antec P180
-Antec SP 2.0 500wt
-160gb sata wd
-40gb maxtor 133
-Plextor 716a
-XFX 6600gt
-Soundblaster 2ZS gamer edition

btw, I would like to overclock. is there any site that have guild for the newbie on intel cpu.

667Mhz is the max for the memory not it's stock speed. It would allow you to overclock your FSB quite a bit if everything else in your system could handle it.

lol, it was a joke. The website doesn't work, I was kidding cause you are trying to overclock that CPU. I am sure that you can google it and come up with some advice for your needs.
