hi, everybody, i am new to this board. i just thought there are many knowledgeable people who can help me out on this one.

i bought a EPoX EP-8KHA+ mobo a year ago, it was running great until two weeks ago. that day i booted up my machine as usual, but after the bios loaded up, before load into windows 2000, a blue screen appears. it says my bios is not compliant with ACPI. so i tried to reboot and the same message appeared again. i went into bios setting and under the device manager, i made sure that ACPI is enabled and i reboot again. the same thing happend.

next day i emailed EPoX tech support, the reply was that i probably didn't install windows 2000 with ACPI enabled so i need to reinstall windows. i was like, how can that be, i've using windows 2000 for a year and it never give me message like that. but he insisted so i format my harddrive and get ready to reinstall windows. however, half way through setup, the same message appeared again. and the next time i tried, it became some memory corruption. i am just totally confused and don't know what to do? i emailed EPoX tech support yet again but they just ignored me. please help me out, any advise or suggestion would be great.

here's my machine setup:

AMD Athlon XP 1500+
Crucial PC2100 DDR 512Meg
TNT 2 ultra(don't know the brand, i salvage it from my friend's comp)
IBM 40GB HD
on board audio

thx for reading my message!

When installing an o/s, take out all the junk that is not needed for one. Also, it could be that your memory went bad but I highly doubt it.

I would also check the mobo battery. It could be failing and corrupting your settings. I'm no expert, but it might be worth a try.

My vote is for bad RAM.

I've had my Epox 8KHA+ for a year now and absolutely NO problems. Download memtest86 and let it run overnight and see if it uncovers anything.
