I have built a computer and done everything I know and I did it right. My problem now is that as I go to start the computer I get nothing when I press the on button it does absolutely nothing. I screwed around and now when I flick the botton on the atualy power supply in the back to on then I get a little red light on the front, but nothing else. I need some help. Any ideas?

I would love to chat with someone on ICQ or AIM so that they could answer questions for me as I put it together. I have it sitting on a table next to me so I iwll be on all night. Please message me or respond to this.

Did you plug the PS' supply into the motherboard? Also, you need to plug in the 2 pin connector from the case's on/off switch to the mobo (it may be in the wrong connector on the mobo, check for that)

well the same thing happened with me when i changed the mobo. make sure that the agp div is set to 2/3 instead of cpu or something. it was a jumper on my epox mvp3g2 that wouldnt even let it boot up. also check and see if ur power botton is broken or something.

Do any fans spin up?
Reseat all the cards, memory and CPU
Check the 110/220 switch on the P.S. and leave the back switch on.

if it doesn't boot up at all, i think i know what the problem is. first off, try moving all the wires that connect to the ps and move them away from any peripherals and anything metal. if possible, use a tie strap and tie them up so that they dont get in the way. and now try booting up your computer. if thats not the problem, you might want to try your video card. take it out, and put it back in snug. if none of those things work, just keep playing with the wires, you'll get it. thats happend to me many of times already. sometimes i can't get it to start, and i move the wires out of the way and re tie them up and it works. its kind of weird. i hope this helps you out, if not you can contact me via aim and we can talk. my aim is speed racer. l8r!

Well, I know it has taken a while but I have been out of town. I have done everything that you guys have suggested. I have reseated ram, vid card, processor, booted with only that, played with all of the connections, I even installed a different Power supply yet I still only get a little red light on the front. Does anyone have any other ideas? I am completely lost and need some help desperately.

Thanks in advance.

Given what was said earlier in the tread, I have one question.

Is this an Athlon, Duron, Pentium 3, or Celeron 2 (Celeron 533Mhz or faster)? If it is there might be problems other than bad connections at work. If you are building a Athlon or Duron system, you may be having trouble because of power supplies not approved by AMD. If it is a Pentium 3 or Celeron you may be having problems because of Intel's power specifications are different that older processors. The FCPGA chips need FCPGA motherboards or FCPGA slockets to perform normally.
