basically my friend recently upgraded his mobo, cpu, hdd, and vid card. apparently the power wont even boot up. when i told him to place in his old radeon 7000...he says the fans comes on for a second...and then the computer makes a beep and shuts off.
here's what he says: "Ok I just put together my new comp, got all of my old stuff taken out, and put in all my new parts (chaintech vnf3-250, XFX 6800 vanilla, Western Digital SATA 80 gig HDD, and AMD Athlon 2800 64-bit) and I try to boot it up. When I press the power button on my case, all the fans spin (YAY!) but thats really all that happens... It seems as if all the devices are powered, all my case fans are spinning, the CPU and Vid card fans are spinning, and the mouse lights. I get no beeps, the Hard Drive light doesnt light, and nothing is posted on the monitor, other than the No signal prompt. I dont THINK that any of the wires and cables are messed up, but Ill check once more. Now one thing to note is that Normally the power light on my case will light up when I flip the PSU's switch, but it doesnt now."
