Need help on finding a car part

where can i find a 1992 Lexus SC400 Gear shifter. My OD buttong broke on the shifter so now i have to put a rubberband arounbd the shifter for it to stay...and my car is having problems.

There are a bunch of part search services, but they're mostly useless... I was looking for a fog lamp switch for my car (that was in several other models) and I came up with nothing. I'd try ebay, junkyards and the dealer in that order.

Because as a rule Lexus owners take their cars to the dealer. They don't do their own work.

you're talking about the OD button on the shifter side closest to the driver? Your best best will be to buy one off ebay. 1992-1997 will work. I've taken it apart a few times and if the whole rubber band thing is a problem, try to relocate the button for the time being, i think it's two wires for the OD button. If you can't find one off ebay, Levoc sells a wood/chrome shifter but you would need to do some wiring and it loosens over time (that's the only 3rd party shifter that can fit on the "dildomatic")

yeah......

there are a bunch of part services that carry oem parts or search for you for them. What did you think I was telling you about? A ricer automatic transmission shifter replacement?

Try searching through some of the lexus club sites out there. If you can't find anyone selling, register and then post a WTB thread for the part. One site I recommend is www.clublexus.com but there are more out there.
