Don't know if this is the right forum and I not the brighest in this area. (I work with the hardware, my wife is the software person.)

Anyways, I couldn't figure out why the last few months my bill from my provider and web hosting service was getting so dam high. I just downloaded our statements over the past year year and noticed that we're getting charge for being over our 200mb storage limit on an average of 100mb per month (About $50 in extra charges a month.)

How do I or my wife figure out on her computer exactly how many megs of storage each page, let's say, is hogging up?

Thanks in advance. This may sound really dumb, but I just deal with hardware and she's too stubborn to help me figure it out.

Did you mean to ask how much bandwidth your wife's website is using?

If there is no web interface to manage files, you'll have to FTP in and transfer all of your files to your local machine to tell. Or see if your provider will simply tell you.

She's allocated 200mb webspace and this is what I get off my invoice:

85147 12/1/2001 to 1/1/2002 -- Virtual Hosting Gold 12/01/2001 $19.95 1 $19.95
85148 12/1/2001 to 1/1/2002 -- Domain Hosting 12/01/2001 $4.95 1 $4.95
88906 Disk Overage - 10MB 01/01/2002 $4.95 11 $54.45

right now it tells me I'm using 211megs

I'm just trying to figure out if I can immediately tell what pages I should recommend to her to have "resized" or eliminated.

Oh, and I'm looking at other places to host it that if she needs and wants more web storage space they won't charge her an outrageous price for that extra storage.

delete 11 megs of stuff. I mean seriously "I'm the hardware guy" means "I can plug in my imac" if you can't figure out which files take up 11mb of space.

notfred,
I don't mess with her webpages. I believe her issues are with all the small graphic tutorials and graphics that she has on the site. I could go through and delete the stuff, but I wanted to know if there was an easy way to just look at her site and say "That's what is hogging all your storage!"

The pages with the msot and largest pictures will take up the msot space (unless she's also hosting video and MP3 or something)
