Need help on choosing a new MB

My mom's computer MB died so I'm going to upgrade mine and give her my 2 month old board. What board do you all recommend? I have a PII 720 BE and 4 gb of ddr800 and a 4870 i may upgrade to xfire not sure.

anything with the 750 southbridge would be best for OC'ing. I would get a AMD 790FX based board with all solid caps, any of the top brands should be fine such as:

What do you think about this board? I would like to try and open the 4th core can it be done on the board? If the 4th core works I'm game if not I'm still happy with the cpu. How stable is gigabyte, i have been using asus for a very long time now. Bios stable?
