Hi all

I've been out of the tech loop for a while, and I need some advice from you guys in choosing a reasonable laptop for my needs.

I will NOT be doing any heavy gaming. I will mainly use it for my work on the job,(primarily MS office, and maybe a little bit of programming), since i will be traveling to places to do my coop work terms.

It has to be light.

Since I won't be playing any games at all, I will watch movies and listen to musics, and both the display and sound must be reasonably acceptable.

Last but not least, it must have a good internet modem inside with good speed.

So, here's all my need with the laptop, and any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

A good internet modem with good speed? I really have no idea what you are asking for. Since the only modems that I know of that are built into laptops (or desktops) are 56K, then we must be operating on different information.

Unless of course you mean wireless, in which case you would actually have to look to find a laptop that didnt have at least 802.11g wireless in it, especially one built in the past 2 years or so.
 
as stu and i are debating in other threads, im gonna say get a core2 in your case 😉 and yeah im sure you mean wifi- and wirelessG is plenty fast for things. dell includes really good wifi cards with their lappys....
