HI Guys

Hope you can help on how do I get access to my Vertical M.2 SSD 500Gb drive slot which can be seen in the bios but not by Windows 10 Pro, the drive has been formatted and prepared.

My main system SSD M.2 has my Win 10 Pro system installed and works fine. Are there any special steps I need to take in the bios for my Win OS to see it so I can get access?

Win 10 Pro (build 1703)
Asus BIOS 0218x64
32Gb G Skill Hyperx DDR4 3200MHz
MSI GTX 1050TI 2GB

Thank you

Not 100% here as I am not speaking from experience, but I believe you are being SSD Blocked by Intel VROC either only supporting Intel SSDs to boot from, or not having a VROC Key. I believe it to be the former as you aren't trying to run RAID.

Hmmmmm can you please suggest a solution?

Just a little history ..In the first slot I installed a formatted WD M.2 500Gb and cloned from a WD 3.5" HD (BLACK series) my new Win 10 sys and it worked perfect. Then I took out the other WD M.2 500GB (identical to the first cloned one) from its slot (second slot) and placed it in the first main slot and formatted it with EaseUS and it formatted successful, I then booted to Acronis 16 and tried to clone
(not recover) my system from the BLACK WD 3.5" HD with sys on it, and cloning failed saying "BLOCK BITMAP CORRUPTED" but the other M.2 SSD cloned and works fine????

How can I test to see if I have a new faulty SSD M.2 drive?? I cant run test on the system because it will not load to desktop or

The M.2 SSD which may be faulty formats fine, loads into Bios fine , but strangely cannot be seen by Win Explorer.

Thanks to anybody that chips in for solutions.

So it seems like my first assumption was incorrect as I did not have all of the information on what exactly you were trying to do. I am unclear on a lot of aspects of the problems you are having because you say the drive doesn't show up in Windows, but then also that the system doesn't load to desktop. That said, here is what I think might be useful to offer.

For the problem of the M.2 not showing up in Windows, have you looked at the Drive Manager under Administrative Tools in the Control Panel to see if it's visible there and can be brought online? When you say it "doesn't appear in Win Explorer" that can mean a lot of things.

As for the issue of trying to clone the WD HDD, it sounds like Acronis believes (either rightly or wrongly) that the WD HDD has a problem. I found this which may offer a solution. Also, is there any reason why you can't clone the first M.2 since it should be a clone of what is on the WD HDD?

Edit: This is probably also in the wrong sub-forum at this point if a mod or someone finds it appropriate to move.

Yes I think your right ...The problem might be with Acronis! will do more tests to confirm.

Thanks
