Need help on 875P based mobo!

I'm really confused on what to get, i'm planning a big upgrade, which means i'm gonna change basically everything i have on my pc and start from scratch. I've read up reviews on the new 875P mobo's. I'm currently confused between MSI 's , ABIT"s and GIGabytes 875P motherboards. I was leaning towards ABIT's IC7-G, but read up the review on tom's hardware on how bad it is, while Anandtech suggested the opposite of TH's. Anyway, what do u guys think is the best , most stable 875P based mobo? or should i wait more for a better more stable versions of 875p motherboards?

thanks in advance

BurntChip,

I'm in the same boat you are and I've decided to wait at least a month after reading reviews and posts from people who actually have the hardware, here and on manufacturers websites.

All these boards have some issues and manufacturers are rushing out BIOS updates to deal with them in the short term, but they will no doubt make hardware revisions also. I like the IC7-G very much, but I can wait for hardware revision 1.1.

In a month or two, not only will prices be lower, the boards will be better.

I heard from friends that if you're going to use the IC7-G with a P4c (800Mhz) and no SATA raid stuff, the board works rock solid. The MSI 875P Neo is just a nightmare... expecting you're gotta have a lot of h/w swapping & testing to do whenever you do a BIOS flash... but even worse... a dead MOBO!!!

i have made my mind up, the msi neo3-fis2r. anandtech did a positive review on it. quess the default bios had some sort of problem , msi has a upgrade at there site. read here a couple of users that bought , mostly postive. first release boards usually have some sort of problem till they get work out

i can remember when i bought my asus a7n8x deluxe, i was defintely a beta testa for some time. asus released this board too early. big problem was silicon raid drivers, they finally got them running good, were corruption problems with files

Alot of people have suggested the Abit and the new 13 bios is suppose to be great. That is what I ordered. Can't wait till it gets here!!!

I've made up my mind too.... ABIT IC7-G. I read from the MSI forum that lots of people getting dead mobo after flashing BIOS to either 1.3 or 1.4...

Just one question, should I go for the Corsair XMS3500C2 or TWIN3200LL ??

Neither. Get Corsair XMS3200C2, it'll oc to 3500 speeds, plus the LL timings don't mean dick when going dual channel on the new boards, better to stay away from the marketing and tinker with the timings on your own.

IC7 is a good choice, plus it looks cool.
