New build, specs
-Shuttle an35n-ultra
-Barton 2500
-5I2 mb Crucial Value Select
-nVidia G4 Ti-4200
-Liteon cdrw
-WD & IBM HDs
- 450 watt cheapo psu
-win98se
I've set it up to get on the net through the dsl connection at the office (on network). When I startup MS internet Explorer, my home page google opens fine. I can do a search on google fine too. But when I hit a link and the new site starts to load, my screen goes into sleep mode (once I did get to mersenne.org for mbm5, but when I went on to MajorGeeks to d/l, it fubar'd again) Hitting the space bar wakes it, but I have to ctr-alt-delete out of explorer. The screen shows my desktop, with explorer looking funny, mostly grayed out. Start button on task bar funtions, but not close button on explorer.
Tried diff monitor and psu. Onboard NIC seems to works fine, communicates with other systems and d/l data from them fine too.
Ideas?
