I am way out of my league on this one...

When I try to power up my PC, the fans (PSU, CPU, and Case Fans) will spin up very briefly, maybe less then a second, and then NOTHING. The power indicator LED on the motherboard stays light, that is the only sign of life. No hard drive activitiy, and no POST activity occurs. The LED read-out in the MB only shows "--".

I pulled and reseated every cable in the case - the only change I could make was when I unplugged the CPU power leads from the motherboard. I also removed the RAM to see if anything would change, and nothing.

I tried a friends CPU, but nothing changed... exact same error.

My guess is that it is a there is either an issue with my PSU or my motherboard. Does anybody have a guess?

Here is my configuration:

MB EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR NF680I 775 -

BFG 7900GS 256M BFGR79256GSOCE -

PSU FSP|FX600 600W RT -

CPU INTEL|C2D E6600 2.4G 775 4M R -

MEM 1Gx2|CORSAIR 240P TWIN2X2048-6400C4 -

WD 7K 8M SATA2 WD1200JS % -

First off, Welcome to the Forums!

Here are my initial thoughts on this:

Is this a new build?
If it is, make sure the square 4 pin power connector is plugged in by the CPU.
There should also be a 6 pin power connector on your Video card.

If it's not the above, then I'm thinking CPU fan/connector, Chassis fan/connector, PSU (how old is it?), or Motherboard.
Pretty much in order too. The Chassis fan may be iffy depending on BIOS settings as to whether if you keep your System from starting up.

Thank you.

Nope, I've been using the PC for little over 1 year.

I just tried an new CPU fan - no luck.

The PSU is about a year old, I bought it with the rest of the hardware.

I don't recall making an adjustments to the bios regarding the case fan, but I can't check. I've reset the BIOS, just in case. No luck.

I am working on finding a second PSU for testing purposes.

Thanks for your help.
