P4 3.0 prescott
i have nvidia7600 GT pci exp
2 ddr2 512 5400

What can I do to get the most out of this CPU and what can I expect?

Start raising your fsb. With good cooling, 4.0 Ghz isn't all that rare. You should be able to hit at least 3.6 Ghz, I would think, assuming you have a motherboard that's built for overclocking. If your motherboard doesn't have PCI & PCI-E locks, you aren't going to get past 3.2 Ghz, though.

What motherboard are you using? What are you using for cooling(you need good cooling, Prescotts run very hot). What series is the prescott(5xx or 6xx). The older 5xx series tends to run even hotter than the 6xx and won't hit 4ghz nearly as easily as a 6xx could.
