Need help now! How can I find the location of someone by their ip?

I am making a sale for something and need to verify that it is actually them making the payment. I asked them to supply their ip b4 i trade. I need to know of a program or website that I can enter the ip and it gives me the information of where the ip is located. So that i may verify their address.

Can't do that from outside their ISP's system, but you can get a general idea, usually at least a country or geographic area.

Best you can do is find out the location of the company that owns the IP address. That is probably the person's ISP. Sometimes accurate, but you'll find a disproportionate number of people in Virginia.

True... AOL, IIRC, is based up in NoVA... as is MAE East, although that's a switch, not an ISP.

I wouldn't be randomly giving out tools that let you get pictures of someone's house or anything like that. This is general enough for me to not worry about who gets what info.
