I installed an ECS NFORCE3-A and an AMD 3000 processor in my computer. I also installed 1gb of DDR400 memory. I kept the hard drives the same, so basically, I just swapped out the motherboard and the cpu. I am using the same video card, and it works. My problem is, I can get through all of the boot up procedure, but when it starts to load windows, it will give me this error message??.

***STOP: 0X000000 (0xEB81B84C, 0x0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

If this is the first time you?ve seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen re-appears, follow these steps:
Check for viruses on your hard computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHDSK/F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Refer to your getting started manual for more information on troubleshooting Stop errors.

I cannot get into DOS, and I know dick all about BIOS set ups. I figured I would be able to just plug in a new motherboard and CPU with my hard drives that I have been using for the past year, and all would be good. Well, it is not. Can anybody possibly help or maybe point me in the right direction. It would be much appreciated. I can boot up with xp or windows 2000 on the same hard drive. Also, when I first started this, I had to F1 to continue or DEL to get into bios setup. Now it just goes right past all that, cept I can still hit DEL to get into BIOS. Also, Now I can only get microsoft 2000 or microsoft windows as options, and it seems XP disapeared. It seems I am in a mess and need help. Once again, thank you. I hope I sounded clear enough, because actually, I have no idea what I am talking about.

hmm... Do you have your hard drive hooked up properly?

It could be the motherboard doesn't recognize your older hard drive. I have heard of a lot of people having trouble transferring hard drives to a new system.

Someone else with a little more knowledge about this, please?

I think it's unlikely that you can get by without reinstalling the os on a new mb. You might be ok with the "repair" install (if you boot from the XP CD and it detects an os, it will be one of the options) but I've seldom found it satisfactory. I suggest a fresh Windows install to go w/your new mb.

You have apparently installed a board with a different chipset. Just boot to a XP cd and do a repair install (2nd repair option). Then load the drivers that came with the new board. Do MS updates and all should be well.
