I put together an xp 1500 and on a gigabyte 7x board. Got a yellow led 2 light on on the board and nothing showing to monitor. on/off and reset lights not working though. Everything else appears to be working. I did not use the plastic insulators as the case had risers built in. Not sure where the problem is.
Thanks
Joan:(

I don't have that board so I can't be specific, but for the video - have you tried reseating the video card? As for the on/off leds and reset led not working, try switching the connectors around (it could be connected backwards where the + and - are reversed).

Are the you getting any error codes on boot up (any beeps)?

No beeps on start up and tried 2 different vid cards but still nothing going to monitor, Got blue screen. All fans working. have three ideas of what is going on.
1 Short out of board on risers
2 bad mem stick
3 bad CPU

My hope is for the short out, but my instinct is saying bad CPU.

Now comes the grueling task of elimination and borrowing or using substitute components to isolate the problem.

Good luck...

If you only have risers where there are screw holes and no extras, you're ok with the mobo mounting. I'd go with the ram first, try another stick, or if using multiple sticks just try one stick at a time. Is your psu an approved one for your XP cpu? You need at least a 300W if not a 340W.

Thanks for the advise, yes I have the risers and I have already checked ddr mem with new stick. Left with clearing moss then if that doesnt work, replacing cpu that is all the options I have at this point.
