I"m in the market for a new Printer and Scanner, I do Photo"s and alot of other kind of printing. Looking for expert advice. Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert on printers but I own an HP and I've been told that HP printers are some of the best. If you want more advice from other ppl I think you might wanna specify what your budget is . Like every other piece of hardware or peripheral out there , there's a huge difference in price between low end and high end models .

I would avoid Umax scanners. The hardware is decent but device driver support is nonexistant. HP scanners are nice. If you combine HP scanners and HP printers the "copy" button on the scanner works well to act as a photocopy function.

The hp 9XX series is great! I got the 970cxi myself, and got it for nearly two years ago (a few days after it came on the market). It have been replaced by the 960, 980 and 990. All are great printers. Superb print quality, fast, quiet, low ink use (low print costs).

The new canon printers are also supposed to be fine. And the photo epsons have great print quality. Although higher print costs, and more prone to failure.

For scanners I really like canon's budget scanners, I used a few different models, with the 650, 656, 1220 etc. Although you are in the market for higher end scanners. But for most the cheap canon scanners would be great, and would perform almost as good as the more expencive ones. (allittle weaker color balance, perhaps less dpi's, slower and a cheaper look)
