need help my geforce 2 keeps locking up

ok i have tired everything here and can not figure it out maybe some here can help me

i have a
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400 64BM
from Powercolor

running on a dual abit board with 196MB's of ram 400Mhz running win98 and win2k

my problem is i go to pay a game no matter what game it is and it locks up on me
i can go hours with out it doing or a few mins i have tried the latest drivers from Nvidia and from Powercolor and it still does the same thing

Nyteize - Yeah, most likely a heat problem here... is your GeForce o/ced? If so then go ahead and return it to its default

Otherwise... you might want to try getting a fan in your case for ventilation.

Should be a fairly easy heat problem to solve... because the card isn't freezing up on you everytime after a few mins... sometimes it goes on and works well...

Which means it's probably not the software/game, nor the card, but rather exterior factors... in this case, try to get some ventilation or cooling in your case.

i have already thought of that i have the case opened and a fan blowing right into the side of it

I`ve had similar problem and I solved it by changing the Motherboard

yea i went out and bought a new board and cpu today hope it works
