Need help- my cd-rom and cd-burner on KK266

Every time I try to use either cd-rom or burner I get freeze-ups. KK266 m/b w/duron 600. Win98. Under system devices windows says " Windows could not load the driver for PCI bus because the comp. is reporting two PCI.VXD bus types (code 2). Asks me to contact manu. for an updated BIOS. NEC CD-ROM and IOMEGA CD-BURNER. Original BIOS set mostly at defaults, no O/C. 4in1 423 drivers installed. Any help is appreciated.:frown:

i dont know athlons cuz i hate 'em, but heres my 2 cents.

-get the new 4-1. 4.29?
-have heard disableing dma does the trick.

im going to wait for someone that HAS an athlon system to answer this..
