Need HELP!! Mozilla 1.7.11 becomes really crazy... >_<
Hi.
After I have upgraded to Mozilla 1.7.11, I have problems loading websites once in a while.
The occurrence is not specific, rather it is somewhat random.

Some of my problems:
- it is frequently unable to display forums correctly (eg icons missing, "reply" / "edit" button missing). I may need to reload several times to solve the problems. Annoying!
- images cannot be laoded once in a while. When I try to reload the pages, some of the non-displayed images can be loaded. However some of the displayed images are not loaded. Annoying!
Note: I have clicked "enable to load all images" in "Tools | Options | Privacy and Settings | Images".
- I cannot load 1 specific website: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/ In the past, I am able to load this forum properly. When I access to any sub-pages of this forum, there's a possiiblity that the (layout of) the page is not displayed. Instead it displays the source codes. Eg:
Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "[url="http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"]http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd[/url]">
<html dir="ltr" lang="en">
<head>
   <title>Wilders Security Forums - Help me please!</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" />
<meta name="generator" content="vBulletin 3.0.6" />
<meta name="keywords" content="Security,forum,bbs,discussion,bulletin board,Firewall,antivirus,privacy" />
<meta name="description" content="This is a Computer Security discussion forum." />

<!-- CSS Stylesheet -->
...
{snip}

It drives me crazy.
Does anyone have similar problems?
Does anyone know how to solve or workaround it?

If the situation prevails, I may need to force myself to use IE again.

Ive had mozilla tell me that some things couldnt be loaded before, but it has always brought up a window or a tab to click saying "download plugin" after that, i dont have problems.

Sometimes it doesnt show pictures, but i think it might be more of the sites problem, rather than the browser.

Hmmm... i've never had that problem with moz 1.7.11
And the forum that you linked, i can open it fine without any problem.

Probably not the best solution, but have you tried:
1. Reinstalling mozilla
2. Clean reinstalling mozilla (create new profile, etc)

Other than that - i have no clue what's happening.

Is it possible that AdBlock extension blocking some items for you? Maybe you accidentally blocked it at one point or another..

It may be my computer tempory problem.
Today it seems to work fine.
But since the problems are rather random in nautre, I have to wait and make sure they are gone.

By the way, do you know how to backup Mozilla profile, settings, cookies, bookmarks, perferences etc.?

Also does anyone know how to make a forced refresh (ie refresh the website by getting info from the Internet, NOT from cache)?
It seems sometimes Mozilla will get the website from the cache even if I press refresh.

By the way, do you know how to backup Mozilla profile, settings, cookies, bookmarks, perferences etc.?
It's in your windows directory, under
C:\Documents and Settings\==windows username==\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\==random_seed==

Mail - your mail directory
bookmarks.html - bookmarks
cookies.txt - cookies, if you want to save it
prefs.js - preference and settings
training.dat - the file with filtering rule for junk mail filter

And probably others, but i can't remember from top of my head..

http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile also have some info
