Need help mounting Scythe Mine on Asus A8N32 Deluxe Motherboard

Hi, I tried and failed a couple times to mount the Scythe Mine on my Asus A8N32 Motherboard.. actually succeeded by rocking the heatsink a little, but next moring.. i had artic silver on the motherboard around the Socket 939.

Any ideas.. my biggest problem is the side to side from from left to right way the clamps tighten and they do so a little lower than the middle heatsink..

I have thought of removing the motherboard main heatsink prior to mounting the Scythe cpu heatsink.. but my efforts to use pliers did not meet with much success and .. I think that it might be a two man job.. holding motherboard on its side, pushing down on clamps and then using pliers, etc..

I would prefer to find a way to mount that is easier and so.. any ideas greatly appreciated.

I have a Scythe Mine 3, and I hate it!!! Worst mount system I've ever seen, and now Scythe is putting the SAME mount system on the 'Infinity'... Beware!

I had the same problem as you and switched to Scythe MX-1 grease. If it squeezes out, who cares, you know?

Bottom line is, you have to muscle the Mine 3 into place! This is very disconcerting!

All I can tell you is, mobos are evidently a LOT stronger than ppl think -- and MX-1 is better than AS5 -- especially when mounting this stupid HSF!
