Hello all.

I posted this in CPU/processors group but figured I should ask here as well...

I have a DFI Lanparty 865PE mobo and I want to put this heatsink on it. Looking online is yielding little results except for one "review" that seems to be mysteriously posted on a handful of "parts review" sites (pcstats.com and frostytech.com)

Anyway, I can't get the damn thing to latch on to my motherboard.. I'm not really sure how it is supposed to fit. The metal arm things seem like they're too short, and I don't want to force the heatsink down onto the CPU. I briefly toyed with the notion of not fastening it, but then realized the heatsink would be facing sideways and would most likely fall off or lose contact with the CPU if I didn't fasten it down right

Anyway, there's a picture of the clip on this page http://www.frostytech.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1260&page=2 and it's that clip I'm having trouble with... I don't quite know how to fasten that to my mainboard.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

that clip appears to be compatible with teh stock intel P4 HSF mounting clip. If I am understanding the post correctly teh metal clips are not stretching far enought to make it into the verticle holes on teh retention bracket?

Thanks for the reply

I figured it out, I just had to gun it and stretch the metal bracket out so that it would apply LOTS of pressure downward.

The hsf turned out to be teh suck. it was REALLY loud, and not because air was blowing through it but because it was vibrating like a leaf blower rotor.
