Need help mounting 120 MM Fan

I will get a 120 mm fan which I will put in place of 3 5.25" bays. Is it ok to use it as an intake fan even though I don't make a blowhole?

intake fan? it's not an intake fan unless it takes cool air from out side and brings it inside the case. Putting that fan there will be useless without a blowhole.
