Need help managing my bandwidth

I need to limit my router's wireless speed.
My roommate is using up all my bandwidth and I'm having really difficult time to surf internet.
I'm in Iraq right now so even 1kb makes different for me.
I get 15kbps to the room and i think he's hugging about 10kbs using his limewire.
I told my roomy but he's the person that do not listen.
He just started using limewire and I can not even check my email.
I'm sick of listening to his loud gangster musics and now he's taking over my bandwidth.

I have these settings in my D-Link WBR 2310 setup menu

Advanced Wireless setting.
TX Rate 1 (was at 54mbp but dropped it to 1 mbp)
Transmit Power 12.5% (was at 100%)
Beacon interval : 100 (msec, range :20~1000, default:100)
RTS Threshold : 2346 (rage 256~2346, default : 2346)
Fragmentation : 2346 (range 1500~2346, default 2345)
DTIM Interval : 1 (Range 1~233, default :1)
Preamble Type : *Short preamble Long preamble
CTS Mode : *None always auto
WMM Function : *Disable Enable

I tried setting TX Rate to 1mbps and power to 12.5% but that didnt help that much.
Any other setting i can change to limit the bandwidth?
I'm connected using cat5 so limiting wireless does not effect me.

9months down 6 months to go!

If you are paying for the bandwidth then just cut him off completely IMO. Otherwise lowering your wireless rates won't do much to stop him considering 15kbps is a fraction of the speed of 1mbps.

What you need is QoS. 🙂
