I work at a school. We have about 20 laptops that we would like to get more use out of. What we want to do is make so the teachers can checkout the laptops and have internet access on them. Each classroom has internet now. What would be the best way to do this? Should we use a wireless solution or buy a bunch or routers? Thanks!

If your talking about passing out the laptops in the classroom then their are plenty of mobile lab solutions. I can't bring myself to give them business as they just laid me off but I used to work for a company that had what they called Classroom in a Cart. Dell, IBM, and other vendors offer similar solutions and I would love for them to get your business. Anyway, its a cart that has 15, 30, or more laptops and an Access Point. As long as you have an open drop in the classroom you have a ready made laptop workstation lab in that room. Plug the AP into a drop with a patch cable, and pass the laptops out. Works extremely well. You could also add a complete wireless infrastructure to your school so you would have coverage throughout the school. Lots more money that way of course and if you only have one cart then it's really uneccessary.
