Need help making a business card.

I am designing a business card for my father: he is starting his own private business to rack in some extra cash. I have Photoshop 5 to work with, so you all know.

I was wondering, anyone have some good designs or ideas? I was looking over some of his business cards and found some good ones. I want a good layout and such.

Anyone know what makes a really good business card? Most of them are plain white, I really don't want to change this much, but I want to add some color around the name and symbol.

I don't have much in the way of business cards, but I take art seriously and draw a lot of pictures both by hand, pastel, photoshop, the likes. I am going to start getting into 3D animation soon. But business cards I've never been around, so I need some help.

How does one "rack" in cash? I know how to rake in cash but I haven't
figured out how to rack it in yet.

most printshops like the file to be in a format like adobe illustrator.

talk to them first about what the want.
they usualy want extra stuff on the border.
