Need help lowering my P3 temp.

I have a P3 750mhz. It is at 40 C idle and goes up to 72 C :Q when running prime 95. I have 1 fan in the front, 2 fans in the back (including power supply fan). I have as3 on the cpu. How can I lower the temperature??? I have an Antec 300watt ps, it says that it has smart fan. I'm assuming that the fan will adjust itself accordenly to the ps temp. Would I be able to modify that so the fan is running at full speed all the time??

Thanks

i think a better heatsink is needed rahter than screwing with the psu 😉
do you have the stock one?

a good, but kinda pricey, is swiftech mcx370

whats your price range for a heatsink+fan?

I forgot to add, the cpu is slot 1 so the swiftech mcx370 won't work. I was thinking of messing with the psu to get some more air circulation in my case.

You say your case has a front intake fan and 2 rear exhaust (1 being in the psu). That should be plenty for your case unless you've got a lot of hard drives. cdroms, PCI cards, and/or overclocked video card.

Doesn't sound like something is correct with your current heatsink/fan setup. Get an Alpha or a Vantec or something else if you've got the stock one. Otherwise it has to be something wrong with how the current heatsink/fan is sitting on the processor. Check to make sure it is flush up against the surface.
