My problem is beyond my expertise. I am building a new system with the following configuration:
Core 2 Duo E6600
Asus P5B Deluxe mobo
Corsair XMS DDR800 512 X2
Antc sonata II case w/450w psu
XFX 6800XT 256mb
Western digital Raptor 40gb w/16meg cache HDD
Seagate 320 Gb HDD

Well I put everything together and the system posted (good news). When I went to install XP Pro OEM from newegg, I recieved an error that Xp will not install on a unformatted drive. The catch is it never asked me f I wanted to format my Raptor drive. It is still in raw format. Now I cant even get the windows disc to boot. All I have been able to access since that point is my bios. I have tried different things here and there but to no avail I cant even get back to square one. Sorry to ramble on like this but I want to know if anyone out there knows where I should go from here.

Did you install the sata drivers by using the F6 key when prompted? Reset the bios to default, move your cdrom to first boot, save and exit. reboot, and see if Xp will enter setup.

i agree with bigdaddy51, the problem is that you haven't installed SATA controller drivers, when the setup will initialize drivers and components you will be offered to press F6 key if you want to install SATA Raid drivers, so that's all you need to do. Ahh, yes there must be a floppy drive which came with your MoBo, it's a SATA driver installation diskette
