Need help - laptop to tv question

episodic

Lifer
I need to be able to output a windows laptop via the vga connection to an old fashioned RCA Input for broadcast over a companies' old fashioned internal tv system. We are talking analog stuff, not digital. They've been burning videos to dvd then playing them over the system, but they want to run videos / powerpoints straight from a laptop. Let me know the easiest / cheapest way to do this. . .

Most notebook these days have S-Video output, so use that. If the devices have component video, a VGA to component video adapter is all you need. You have to set the computer to output component signals to its VGA. If there is no option, use PowerStrip. The adapter should cost no more than $15 for premium or $4 for cheap.

Component video will be a better option compared to S-Video, but it depends on the devices you are connecting to. S-Video can be converted to RCA or composite with an adapter that costs about $3.
