NEED HELP Laptop HDD trying to use on a desktop no detect

any help is appreciated i want to use my laptop hdd on my desktop so i can install O/S on it but when i tried to put it on using HDD converter it doesnt detect my lapy hdd drive...any help is appreciated

i have the same problem..

my bios finally detected my hd..

butnow fdisk or cfdisk wont partition it.. it says it the disk has a bad partition table or something..

anyone got any ideas?

mine does spin up.. bios recognizes it sometimes.. do you think maybe the drive is bad?

Check carefully - the 2.5-in drive is usually configured as MASTER - no jumper at all. There are a set of 2x2 pins at one end where you need a jumper to make it SLAVE or CS. It is usually printed on the drive label with a tiny diagram.

Other than that, you can use your adapter and put it in a Firewire or USB2 enclosure and leave it like it is.
