Hey there, I have a little problem on my hands. My master HD's drive letter is F: and my slave drive's letter is C: . This happend when I had to took out my master HD and used my slave as the master. I bought a new slave and Windows named the partion C: for the slave drive. There is currently nothing on the C: drive so its no big deal to change that drive letter, but my master has EVERYTHING on it, OS and all. Is there any way for me to change the master drive letter to C: and change all the file paths without having to do a re-install?, I have no clue on drive letter changing or what I need to do it.

Right. The way the letters are set up, as far as I am aware, doesn't have anything necessarily to do with what drives are master and slave, but more to do with what partitions are primary/logical/extended. If you have PartitionMagic or something similar, that will tell you what is what.

You would usually have your c: drive as a primary bootable partition, but it has been a while since I have really thought about this, so have a tinker about with PartitionMagic (don't hit the "Apply" button!!!) to try and get your drive letters as you want them, but it may well require a re-install. It shouldn't matter however that your main drive with the OS on it isn't c:. I have selected my main drive as e: as that is on the third IDE channel which is RAIDed. This doesnt present any problems with windows, except that every time you install a program you have to change the default install directory to e:/program files rather than c:/program files. Occasionally ona realy old piece of software it will refuse to be installed on anything except c:.
