!!! Need Help !!! Iomega 12x10x32x Burning programs won't identify it

I just recieved my drive from compusa and installed it. I tried burning something using Nero, easy cd creator, disk juggler, clone cd, and fire burner. For example when i try creating a cd in easy cd creator it says "There are no supported CD-Recorders available. Ensure that your CD-Recorder is powered on and that all cables are properly connected. You may aslo need to update Easy CD creator to recognize your CD-Recorder. To update Easy CD Creator select Web-Checkup from the internet menu.

The weird thing is when I goto cd information it shows me the properties of the iomega drive. This drive still has the 1.06 firmware, might this be the problem? I was gonna flash to 1.07 and do the name change but while i was reading the directions it stated that you drive should be working before you do the name change. Right now my drive does not seem to be working. Can someone please help me
 
You might want to try updated burning programs, but if that doesnt work, you could try using cdmediaworld's cd witer modification page. They have procedures for turning the iomega drive into a plexwriter (they are the same drive internaly!) The plextor drive i hear is much more widly supported. CCD, Nero and CDRWIN all support the plextor 121032 drive. (i warn you that cdmediaworld is SLOW... and half the time thier pages dont work)

Roxio just posted a patch to the latest ECDC 4.03 . . . makes it 4,03a by adding more burners to the inventory. Do you have it?
 
whoa it worked!! but i cant use any of the other programs unless all of them have some kind of update!

and I CANT UPGRADE FIRMWARE TO 1.07!!!!!!! I have tried the hacked version and the plextor version. When the executable is executed it wont do anything. Then I have to do a ctrl alt del and end the task on it.
 
did you make sure that the DMA option is disable first for the Iomega ZipCD?
your ASPI layer should be up to date but you can always double check it here.
