Try this: Boot from floppy, rename win.com to win._om, also wininit.exe to wininit._xe
Run smartdrv.exe & then setup 2257 on D: drive, from dos prompt: i386\winnt.exe.
After installation is done, rename the files back to original names.
Option #2: if you have a 2nd HD, you can choose in bios setup which drive to boot from. Can make both drives independantly bootable. Good for repairing drives if one drive gets corrupted, if Whistler is installed as Fat32.
