Need help installing socket 775 C2DUO

need help instaling

I placed the CPU in the socket, now im going to close the load plate, i feel theres pressure, is this normal? i havent closed it yet since im not sure.

what do you mean pressure???
there is some pressure but nothing outrageous, just make sure that the three notches on the processor are in ther place and you shnould be fine, but by all means use your own judgement

i think the lid might be bent?

well there will be some pressure.(common on all LGA 775 platforms)Confirm whether all the edges line up.There are cuts on the sides of the sides for that particular reason.
Once u are sure its in properly,close the latch.(u are bound to experience a little resistance)
