Need help installing IC7-G

Quick question:

I HAVE an Asus P4PE raid motherboard running Windows XP.

I want to install my IC7-G.

Is there any way to do this without re-installing Windows XP from the ground up? I don't want to compromise stability.

The last time I tried this (going from an Abit TH7-II raid to the Asus P4PE), Windows just BSOD'ed on me.

Thanks.

Put in your WinXP CD and have the system boot from the CD. When it first asks if you want to install WinXP or repair an existing installation, pick "install." It will do some stuff, then say "hey, I see an existing Windows installation in C:\WINNT (or wherever), do you want that repaired?" Say yes to this, and it will reinstall Windows over the existing installation, but will leave your programs and data intact (usually).

It would still be smart to back up your important data on CD-R's before doing this, just in case Windows is grumpy. Good luck! 🙂

Then wipe the drive and reinstall. Sometimes repairing works, sometimes it doesn't. I wouldn't trust it.
