Need help installing DFI Lanparty nF4 SLI....

Hey guys,

It has been a while since I built a system, and these new boards have a ton of options. I just got the DFI Lanparty nf4 SLI and have a few questions about hooking up power to it.

From what I've read, this board is power hungry. So I got a nice big juicy PS. I plugged in the 24 pin connector and the PCI Express plug. So my question is, what else if anything do I need to hook into the power supply on the mobo? There is another power connector on the board that is a 4 prong hook up, just like the power connector on say, a IDE CD-ROM drive. The manual lists this is a '5volt/12volt' plug, but I'm not sure what it is for. Should I attach a power cable to this?

Thanks, I hope that made sense!

I just put mine in less than a week ago.

There are 4 power connections. ALL of them should be plugged in.

1) ATX power (24-pin)

2) +12V power (4-pin near ATX power)

3) 5/12V power (4 pin like IDE drive)

4) 5/12V power (4 pin like fan 3-pin + 1 ... it's next to the topmost PCIe slot, and by topmost i mean the one closest to the I/O ports)
