need help installing ati 8500dv

I just installed an ati 8500dv but the screen is blank. the mobo do not have an integrated video and I have another card that I used before and it works. After I install the 8500, the hdd lights up but the screen is blank.

HELP!!!

 
What are your system specs? For example, make and model of your Motherboard, things like that. Could be quite a few reasons for the blank screen. Without more info its impossible to help you.

amd 2600+, ECS elitegroup kt600-a mobo, 512 ram, harddrive 1: 160 Gig Maxtor, hd 2: 60 gig maxtor, generic case with powersupply, video card is an old ati card with tv(had it when i had windows 98....
