Need help in picking out new Printer.. *Update*

I knbow jack about printers... only 2 I know is Inkjet and Laser. I want the latter, but I don't know where or what to look for?

I have about $250 to spend on a printer. I don't want an inkjet cuz well I'm tired of them dying out on me. I had 2 HP's and 1 Canon and they both pretty much failed on me. What should I look for?

I usually print B/W so color is not so important to me. I just want one that reliable and makes awsome print outs. Are HP Laserjets good? Or Lexmark? Is Xerox still around?

Went to local Staples... has a Minolta 1250W Laser for $100, its 1200x1200 dpi black and white.. USB/Parrallel 8 MB RAM. Went to J&R in City has a Brother and Samsung for $169 cheapest but both are 2 MB and PARALLEL only... Is the Minolta any good anyone know? Please thanks for any info
 
I have an Epson Stylus Photo 820 Photo Printer. I cant get enough of this thing. got it for 170 or so after tax. Does GREAT print outs~!
 
i use a HP inkjet. havent had a problem with it yet... actually, i have 4 of em.

but if you want a laser printer, i would suggest.... HP as well. i still have my HP laserjet 4MP. it's like 8-10 years old now, still working.

You can't get an HP worth a damn under $800.
 
$160 Hmm sounds pretty good.. and BestBuy will probably take it back if I don't like it.

When did Samsung start making printers?

I would check out the Minlota Laser Printer at Staples this week (my store) ... if you use a coupon it would cost 60 bucks after rebate/cpn. This is a nice little printer with great text and a low cost to run... pm me if you have questions

brother makes good/cheap laser printers

they aren't heavy cycle like HP, but for home or small office use, they are fine

the HL 1440 is available for ~$250

acuatly its 200 plus a gift check at staples this week straight out 🙂... HL 1440 is also a great choice

Personally, I like Lexmark printers. Kinda expensive on the cartidges, tho, but that's because you get a new print head everytime.
