This is the first time that I'll be doing this, so take it easy on me.

I got a PIII 800EB right now and will be replacing it with a PIII 1000E with 100FSB.
Is it a matter of plugging the new one in and let the bios (?) set itself up (frequency, fsb, cpu voltage)
or do I have to go into the bios and set it up manually prior to windows loading?

Appreciate any help guys/gals. Thanks.

assuming you've got a suitable bios which will recognise the new cpu then just install it(the cpu) & the bios should auto detect it correctly!

Thanks guys. As for the bios, I've got the 1007 final and if I remember it correctly,
it was updated for the 068Ah ID.
But I've kept a copy of the beta anyway, just in case ;)

Thanks again.
