Need help in building new rig

So, I have decided to build a new rig. My main requirements will be watching movies, surfing net, playing games. I am tight on budget but at the same time I don't want to compromise whatsoever on the build. I am thinking of

1) Sandy Bridge i3 2120 or i3 2100. Can't go to i5 2500k, though I'd have loved to.

2) Board should be of Asus (confused between H61, H67, P67😕), I have heard that lately Asus boards have become problematic. I am open to any other solid brand. I might be buying a graphic card in future.

3) Ram- G skill 8gb (4x2) 1333 mhz.

4) Case- Coolermaster elite 310 or 311.

5) HDD- WD caviar green 1 TB.

6) PSU- Corsair (430 w or more than that? 😕)

I live in India, so please keep in mind there's not going to be any offers from newegg etc. Should I wait for Ivy i3's or just go with sandy i3? Also I would like to run the same rig for next 3-4 years so let me know is it all good? Thanks.

You missed a few of [thread=80121]the questions we need answered[/thread]. Like, what exactly is your budget?

You want to game, but you "might" be buying a graphic card? Or did you just mean Flash games and the like? If you want to play recent, high-end games, in order of best to worst plans, either get a graphic card, consider a Llano, or wait for the Ivy i3's. If you don't want to really do "gaming", then you can aim much lower, like a G620 with 4GB RAM. You might still want to do this if you do want to do "gaming", so that you can afford a graphic card.

About boards:
H61: 2 RAM slots max (effectively), no USB3 or SATA3 without an added chip on the board. But you don't get any benefit from SATA3 without an SSD.
H67: 4 RAM slots max, SATA3 (which you don't need without an SSD), no USB3 without an added chip on the board - but they all have it, possibly no Ivy support.
B75: up-to-4 RAM slots, SATA3 (which you don't need without an SSD), USB3.
P67: Overclocking, no onboard graphics. You don't want this.

Sorry, but you're gonna have to choose between the two. Budget means compromises have to be made. They key is to make the right compromises so that they don't affect you as much. Ken asks a good question, what types of games at what resolution and detail levels are you interested in?

My budget is around 25000-27000 INR (500 USD). I will be playing games (recent ones but not very often), so I believe I have to get a graphic card but I don't know which one. Although I will buy the card later on. Secondly is it a good option to consider the Ivy i3's, I mean when they are getting launched and what are their specs, any good than the current Sandy i3 2120 or i3 2100? And which one to buy if considering 2120 or 2100?

Also I am still confused between the boards (brand wise too). Which one to buy if using a graphic card in the future? Also please tell whether my PSU will be okay? Thanks.

Given your limited budget, you should go with the least expensive option from a good brand (H61 from ASUS, ASRock, MSI, Gigabyte, Biostar). I'd probably seriously look at the Pentium G series as well in order to free up some more money for the GPU. As for the PSU, it's fine assuming the 430W Corsair you're referring to is the CX430.

I can give you specific recommendations if you provide a link to the shop that you intend to use.
