So, I have decided to build a new rig. My main requirements will be watching movies, surfing net, playing games. I am tight on budget but at the same time I don't want to compromise whatsoever on the build. I am thinking of

1) Sandy Bridge i3 2120 or i3 2100. Can't go to i5 2500k, though I'd have loved to.

2) Board should be of Asus (confused between H61, H67, P67:confused:), I have heard that lately Asus boards have become problematic. I am open to any other solid brand. I might be buying a graphic card in future.

3) Ram- G skill 8gb (4x2) 1333 mhz.

4) Case- Coolermaster elite 310 or 311.

5) HDD- WD caviar green 1 TB.

6) PSU- Corsair (430 w or more than that?)

I live in India, so please keep in mind there's not going to be any offers from newegg etc. Should I wait for Ivy i3's or just go with sandy i3? Also I would like to run the same rig for next 3-4 years so let me know is it all good? Thanks.

Get this moved to general hardware, you are in the wrong forum. Once there copy/paste the sticky thread and fill in the answers to the questions.

I don't know where will you be buying from india, but I'm in New Delhi NCR... and the cheaper (< INR 4000) ASUS boards are not that good. Me and my friend had to run to the service center 3 times in 3 years, though they replaced the motherboard hand to hand without wasting time.

Personally, I'd suggest you that you buy a Gigabyte or an AsRock board. The cheap ones last long enough to not run to the service center during your 3 year warranty. However, if you are planning to spend over INR 5000 on a motherboard, then the ASUS ones are good.
