my laptop running Linux Mint 12
I decided to setup conky again for fun. So I was installing some fonts for it and some didn't seem to take.
I would download the fonts, double click on them and then select the install button. I could then find them in my .fonts folder in my home directory.
I wouldn't see them used in conky though.
I also ran "sudo fc-cache -fv". it didn't help.
I found a font manager called "fontmatrix". it looks impressive but I can't find any damn documentation for it. at one point I somehow "deactivated" my system fonts and could read any menus or text on my laptop. That was fun.
pizzadudebullet.ttf is in my ~/.fonts folder but conky doesn't use it.
also chrome is using some messed up font to show things formatted with the code tags on the ubuntu forums.

I've deleted almost every font from my .fonts folder then reinstalled.
any ideas on what to try???
