Anyone remember a game back in the day that was set in a sci-fi type of environment? I think up to 4 people could play and the objective was to get a key to unlock the end of the level/stage. It was a side scrolling game and the players sometimes had jetpacks, there were different weapons that could be picked up for fighting aliens. I don't know if the game was ever released for the console or PC.

i may have play that before, i think one guy was red and one was yellow and forgot the other 2, and you get weapons like laser and stuff ?

which is like 50000 other games out there.. ill look around..

Xenophobe? I used to play this game back in the 80s at the roller skating rink I frequented. Good times!

Like many games of this era, Xenophobe was ported to many home systems. Beginning in 1988, it was ported to the Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Atari ST, Commodore 64, Lynx, Amstrad CPC, Sinclair ZX Spectrum and the Nintendo Entertainment System. (An Atari 800/XL/XE conversion exists in prototype form[1]).

Atari published the versions Xenophobe for its systems (the 7800 and XE versions were developed by BlueSky software, and the Lynx version was developed by Epyx) while Sunsoft ported it to the NES. The Commodore 64 port was done by Microplay. In 2004 Xenophobe was included in Midway's Arcade Treasures 2 for the PS2, Xbox and Nintendo Gamecube.

thanks for the suggestions so far.

it's not xenophobe although that was a great game. it's a little different, because xenophobe took place inside of a spaceship (I think) whereas this game I have in mind was kind of like out in space. Wish I could remember more details. I think there were special items you could pickup like jetpacks to fly and boots to jump higher.

Sounds like Contra

Was it the Journey game? (based off the music group lol) I remember it was in space, and it had jet packs. I'm not sure why the hell that game was ever made to be honest, it made no sense to me.
