Need help ID'ing a song

The song I'm thinking of comes on from time to time in department/convenience stores and I'm pretty sure I heard it once or twice on the radio.

The only words I can remember are part of the chorus and it goes something like "There's something abouttttt the wayyyyy.." and after that I have no idea.

It's a very mellow sounding sound with background singers doing a lot of the singing as well. It's got an 80's kind of tone and the lead guy kinda sounds like Rick Astley, though I don't think it's him. Did a bunch of lyrics searches based on what I got but nothing seems to be right, leading me to believe some of the words might actually be different. Throw whatever comes to mind out there if you can make sense of this.
