Need help identifying this oldie

I heard it on the oldies station recently. One of the lyrics talks about Boston, as in missing Boston or going home to Boston. That lyric seemed to be a non-sequitor from the rest of the song. Also, I thought it was Gloria by Them when the song began.

And no, the song isn't by Boston and it's not Please Come to Boston by Dave Loggins.
 
Well, as I was typing up this post, I found the song....however, if anybody feels inclined, I would still like to give someone the satisfaction of identifying the correct song, so I'll delay posting the actual song for now.
