Need help identifying this car

http://www.melvinchu.com/pictures/car.jpg

I have no idea what kind of car this is and was wondering if any of your car gurus out there know - make, model, approximate year.

I had wanted to say a Caddy but it has a weird crest where the logo usually is. Looks '60's ish but that's about all I can think of.

Thanks to AntisociaL - it's a '68 Chrysler Imperial

Have you tried zooming in on those letters and trying to make out what it says

bah it just looks like a blur to me

Regarding the Cannon comment - checked both the Mark III and Mark IV - some of the 3's and 4's had similar quad style headlights, but nothing with that huge grille. (The lines were also a lot bulkier/sharper) 🙁

yup, your're right. his lincoln also had fold away headlights

I am pretty sure that it's a Mercury of some sort.

EDIT: Definitely a Mercury Colony Park or Monteray. 1960's. I'll see if I can pinpoint the year.

That's a 67 Chrysler 300 in the pic above - so prob the car is a Chrysler of some sort (lines are very similar) ??

EDIT: ZV thinks otherwise, ZV knows his stuff. doh.
The trouble is that many large cars looked similar in those days. The hood badge is carrying a leading capital "M", which is what first suggested a Mercury (also, the fact that the car looks to have a strong resemblance to 1960's Lincolns since Mercury at that time was a "Junior Lincoln"). I thought it was a Colony Park at first: http://www.fedrelandsvennen.no/amcar/brochures/mercury/66mcpk.html but it could also be a Monteray or any of the larger Mercuries since they were made to all look similar.

Looks a LOT like a Mercury. The writing is styled a helluva lot like that belonging to my '77 Marquis (as is the entire front end). My lead would be a 60's Marquis, based on the badge. Not sure about the symbol in the middle of the grille, though. Maybe a tuner? 😛
