I remember there was a program where it will tell you all the details about your Xp chip when you entered the very long numeric code. I can't seem to find it. ANyone has a link?

the only thing special about that program was the fact that it seemed to know what batch rejects you were getting, but that don't seem right

basically write yur numbers all here and we're tell ya what they mean and you'll never have to depend on any little web based program again

That's quite an interesting cpu identifier site. I saw it the other day linked from overclockers. Says my 0302 2100+ is downgraded from 2800+. Too bad I don't have the numbers for my other 2100+, since it performs stable at a good 200mhz beyond the 0302. But I don't really plan on disassembling and squinting my eyes just to see what a black box website has to say about my favorite 2100+. I like it just fine regardless. ;)

dayum. I'm hitting 60C full load. LOL. I need something that will do higher speeds at lower voltage. :D

i heard some people with bad 2003 chips before week 02
i hear up to 09 are out there and good
the ones before 2003 are all mostly good unless their t-bred a
i would guess a 247 would be the same if not better than a 301

so get something 02 or later if you can
if you get something nobody has ever gotten then it will still be good

AIUHB should be
the "A bin" chips (only 2100+ and later i believe) are usually higher clockable than the "J bin" found in the 1700+

If you are looking at the CPU in a store and can see the numbers, there is another site that provides a guide on what the numbers mean. So, you can go prepared and look for the chips based upon the key identifiers provided by....

Guide to choosing an Athlon XP Thoroughbred Revision B

It made my night (and day) the other night when I discovered my 1700+ was a rebadged 2700+....

I'm looing at that site where they talk about the 1700s. Sorry no link. But they say some have average overclock at 1.6v to 2900+ 2.3 gig....that true?
